Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is NoClogger, and how does it work? +
NoClogger is a precision tool designed to unclog your 3D printer’s nozzle and heat break without disassembly. It gently pushes out blockages, extending the lifespan of your nozzle and heat break by up to 20 times.
Which 3D printers and filament types are compatible with NoClogger? +
NoClogger is compatible with all 1.75mm and 2.85mm filament printers, including direct drive and Bowden systems.
What materials is NoClogger made from, and how durable is it? +
The rod is made from a patented alloy designed specifically for unclogging FDM printers. This alloy transfers heat very slowly—protecting your printer’s plastic parts—while being softer than extruder gears to avoid damage and offering perfect flexibility. The handle is made from durable PLA+.
Are there accessories available for NoClogger? +
Yes! Free downloadable STL files for mounts and accessories are available at NoClogger Downloads.
Using NoClogger
How do I use NoClogger to clear a clog? +
Follow these steps:
- Determine if the issue is a clog or an obstacle: If NoClogger won’t insert, filament may be stuck in the extruder gears. Open the gearbox and remove any debris before proceeding. If it inserts but doesn’t clear the clog, proceed to step 2.
- Set the correct nozzle temperature: For standard filaments, use 280°C; for high-temp filaments, use 300°C.
- Insert NoClogger slowly and push/pull gently to break the clog.
- If the clog persists, try a cold pull method using nylon filament.
Do I need to disengage the extruder gear before using NoClogger? +
No, but you must open the extruder idler to allow NoClogger to pass through smoothly.
What should I do if NoClogger doesn’t go all the way in? +
If NoClogger won’t insert, the extruder gear may be blocked. Open the gearbox and remove any stuck filament before trying again.
How often should I use NoClogger for maintenance? +
Use NoClogger between filament changes or whenever print quality drops to prevent major clogs.
Can NoClogger remove all types of clogs, including burnt or stubborn filament? +
NoClogger clears most blockages; however, extremely burnt filament or mechanical jams in the extruder gears may require additional troubleshooting.

Additional Support
What should I do if NoClogger doesn’t clear my clog? +
If NoClogger doesn’t insert at all, filament may be stuck in the extruder gears—open the gearbox and remove any debris before trying again. If it inserts but the clog persists, try a cold pull method or consider replacing your nozzle.
My extruder isn’t gripping the filament. Will tapping NoClogger help? +
No, tapping NoClogger won’t help if your extruder isn’t gripping the filament. This issue is likely due to a loose gear screw or extruder malfunction. Please check your printer’s settings or contact us for support.
